TradeSlides is a marketplace platform connecting customers with tradespeople. We are the data controller for the personal information we collect through our website, mobile app, and related services.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Account details: name, email address, phone number, role, and password authentication data
  • Profile information: bio, services offered, coverage area, gallery photos, qualifications, insurance and business verification details for tradespeople
  • Job details: service type, description, postcode or location, timeframe, status, and photos
  • Messages exchanged between customers and tradespeople
  • Reviews and ratings
  • Account deletion and support requests

We automatically collect:

  • IP address, request metadata, and basic service logs needed to keep the platform secure and reliable
  • Device or browser information sent as part of normal web and app requests
  • Rate-limit, authentication, upload, and monitoring events, with sensitive fields filtered where possible

  • To provide and maintain our services
  • To match customers with relevant tradespeople
  • To facilitate communication between users
  • To verify tradesperson qualifications
  • To send notifications about job activity
  • To prevent fraud and ensure security
  • To diagnose issues and improve reliability

4. Sharing your information

We share limited information between customers and tradespeople to facilitate the service, such as names, job details, trade profiles, ratings, reviews, messages, and contact details where needed after a match. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We may share data with service providers who help us operate the platform, including hosting, database, file storage, email delivery, bot protection, and operational monitoring providers. These providers process data for us so the service can work.

5. Cookies, analytics, and mobile SDKs

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep users signed in and remember basic interface preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

The mobile app does not currently use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking SDKs. We may process basic service logs from our own systems to keep TradeSlides secure, diagnose issues, and improve reliability.

6. Photos and device permissions

The mobile app may ask for access to your photo library or camera so you can upload job photos, profile photos, and work gallery images. We only upload files you choose to submit.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you request deletion, we will remove or anonymise personal data within 30 days where practical, except where we need to retain information for legal, security, dispute, fraud prevention, or accounting purposes.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing
  • Data portability

9. Security

We use security measures including HTTPS, secure hosting, access controls, rate limits, content security controls, upload validation, and monitoring to protect your data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

10. Children

TradeSlides is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
